Life as a Snowman. lame
(written by Miss CadyBelle, so prettily written)
On a cold December day on opposite sides of a snow covered forest, two snowmen were built by the loving hands of small children. Ever so carefully in the snow covered clearings they rolled the snow balls that would become two snowmen. After assembling the three snowballs atop each other the small children began to search for arms, eyes, noses, and mouth pieces. From trees the arms came, small pebbles from a river bank were transformed into eyes and mouths. One brave child from each group snuck into a garden and snatched away a button from an apron to be a nose. With the last piece of their little puzzle put together the children stepped back and admired their snowmen. How marvelous they were. The sun had drifted its way across the sky and was slowly sinking into darkness. It was time for the children to return home.
That was the last the snowmen ever saw of the children, for they never returned. Days turned into weeks as the snowmen stood lonely on their sides of the forest. Finally, on December 24th something magical happened. The snowmen had become alive! With surprise and shock they examined their branch arms and button noses. Ever so slowly they got used to their new abilities and they set forward to explore the strange land they lived in.
Unknowingly they were headed towards each other in the dense pine forest. The trees were littered with heavy patches of snow teetering on the edge of their branches, ready to fall at the slightest disturbance. Each snowman looked up in awe at the aging trees wondering how they could grow so tall. The only path through the snow-covered forest was the one they made; nevertheless, they continued their journey. What they were searching for they were unsure of. They just continued wandering through the forest hoping they would find what they needed.
For what seemed like hours, but was really only minutes, the snowmen wandered in the forest until they appeared at the edge of it. Each snowman stared out in awe at the sight in front of them. There was a clear expanse of undisturbed snow, a hidden valley encased within the forest! With a shout of joy the snowmen launched themselves out into the clearing only to be stopped by an invisible force. They stepped back and poked their branch arms at the image in front of them. Much to their surprise the image crumpled and fell to the ground to reveal themselves staring in shock at the crumpled mess at their feet and themselves.
It was at that moment that both the snowmen realized that they were in a snow globe. Forever going in circles, never being able to see the outside world, the two snowmen lived forever in an unchanging atmosphere.
